Visitor Village Handy Person (Brockholes)
Our spectacular floating Visitor Village is the first of its kind in the UK. It was designed by internationally renowned architect Adam Khan to bring our visitors close to nature and was opened in 2011.
The Visitor Village was designed with environmental sustainability in mind and was awarded BREEAM “Outstanding status” along with a number of other awards for building design.
The Visitor Village is made up of five individual buildings including the Kestrel Kitchen (our main catering outlet), Peckish (a second catering outlet), a wedding venue and conference facility, an information centre and an activity room used for educational visits and events.
The income that we generate on our Visitor Village helps us to fund our vital conservation work, so it is essential that the Visitor Village is well maintained, looking its best and operating efficiently.
As a Volunteer Handy Person, you will help us to look after the Visitor Village by carrying out a wide range of general tasks on the Visitor Village.
